Marcel did a research project “Large-scale training of the Google BERT model” at Imperial College London in 2020. His project has led to a paper “Spotnik: Designing Distributed Machine Learning for Transient Cloud Resources” accepted by a leading system workshop: USENIX HotCloud 2020. Marcel started as a PhD student at Imperial College London afterwards.
